DANCEThe committee meets once a term to discuss general dance matters. More regular meetings take place closer to specific performances. The role of the dance committee is to liaise between the dance teachers, principal, parents and staff on dance matters. We are here to promote the experience of dance for the students and assist in providing dance facilities and equipment for the school.
The dance committee organises all transport to and from most venues. We build props and help with sewing and makeup. We help with ticketing for the school musicale and arrange fundraisers. We are required to keep accurate records of all financial transactions and provide detailed reports to the P&C.
The dance group does not exercise any authority over the teaching staff on any matters relating to the selection of students for inclusion in dance opportunities at the school. The role is to assist and support the teaching staff and the performers.

The Band Committee organises and maintains the Band Program for
Training Band, Concert Band and Performance Ensemble. It is also
responsible for maintaining the budget through band fees and
fundraising. The Band Committee meets twice a term. A new committee in
elected each year.

APLS-Avalon Parents Liaison & Social
Association
This organisation enables parents to contribute to the organisation and
welfare of the school and encourages discussion by parents on
educational and social issues. Meetings provide parents with an
opportunity to socialise and receive information about curriculum,
school programs and events. New members are always welcome and will
enjoy the informal atmosphere. Preschoolers are welcome. Dates and
times of meetings are published the school newsletter. APLS is a
sub-committee of the P&C. Its role is to organise and coordinate:
- Curriculum information sessions
- Fundraising
- Some school/social events
- Class contact people
- Working Bees
- Lost property
- Helping Hands
